Do you offer memory care?

Yes, the program director is a Registered Nurse with a Masters Degree in Nursing and a Geriatrician Certificate from McMaster University. Staff are trained in Gentle Persuasion Approach techniques, Dementiability and U First. This helps to ensure proper care is provided to our residents living with Dementia, Alzheimer’s, and other memory care needs.

Do you have any licensing?

Our home is licenced and regulated by the  Retirement Home regulated (RHRA) and is being inspected regularly. Inspection reports are available at the home and online. We are also a member of the Ontario Retirement Homes Communities Association (ORCA), ensuring high standards of care.

Do you have a family physician?

Yes, our physician visits at least every other Wednesday and is available by phone when necessary.

​

How many personal support workers (PSWs) does Angel’s Retirement Home keep on staff?

Our staffing ratio is two PSWs for ten residents during the day.

What are your visiting hours?

At Angel’s Retirement Home, we encourage friends and family members to visit regularly and participate in activities.

How often can I visit?

Friends and family members are welcome to visit as often as they like.

How can I keep in contact with my loved one if I am unable to come?

Long-distance family members are supported in staying in touch with their families via a house phone and free long-distance video calls such as WhatsApp, Facetime, and emails.

Can I keep my family doctor?

Yes!

What happens when health changes?

Angel’s Retirement Home is committed to offering a continuum of care with professionals available to administer 24-hour care. Our house physician specializes in Palliative Care, which enables us to provide end-of-life support for our residents.

Can a special diet be accommodated?

We can accommodate most therapeutic diets and offer nutritionally balanced meal selections.

​Are there additional fees or charges outside of the agreement that we should be aware of?

At Angel’s Retirement Home, we pride ourselves on an all-inclusive service price.

​

What furniture and personal items will I need to provide?

Our home is beautifully decorated and completely furnished, but you are welcome to provide additional pictures and decorations for your room.

​

What type of activity and program do you provide?

We offer music, art, dance and pet therapies. Our lovely Max (a Maltese) comes to spend time with us regularly.

Is the home wheelchair accessible?

Our home is designed for ease of use for those with mobility challenges.
